Support makes it happen
From sorting produce to driving deliveries, our volunteers are the heart of Sco Food Bank. Give a few hours and feed a family.
I came once to try it out. That was three years ago. I haven't missed a Saturday since.
Maria R., Volunteer since 2022
Built on the backs of people who show up
Sco Food Bank has never had a staff of hundreds or a corporate budget. From the very first Saturday in 2022 — when seven neighbors sorted canned goods on a folding table in the Riverside Community Center — every box packed, every delivery made, and every family served has been the direct result of volunteers giving their time.
Today our volunteers come from every corner of the community: high school students earning service hours, retirees who show up every single week, families who make Saturday sorting a tradition, and professionals who join our mobile distribution drives. Different backgrounds, one reason — because a neighbor is hungry and they can help.
